“If we say God is life, how can we live apart from him?” That is the question Ronnie Roque asks in this video.

Ronnie continues teaching from Patrick Morley’s book, “Pastoring men.” In today’s segment, he sheds light on some of the obstacles that keep men from God’s training. One of the biggest obstacles being, he feels, is the lack of a young boy being trained properly at home, growing up and appearing to be sucessful leads him to feel that he doesn’t need training. Some of the other obstacles Roque shares are:

  • being successful in life
  • your job
  • your education
  • your thoughts
  • your money

Often times when we or society views us as a “success” we feel that we are fine and need not do anything other than what we have and are already doing, but Ronnie says that “Man knows enough about God to know that he has a problem with God.”

“A man who is eating or lying with his wife or preparing to go to sleep in humility, thankfulness and temperance, is, by Christian standards, in an infinitely higher state than one who is listening to Bach or reading Plato in a state of pride.” ~ C.S. Lewis

“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Prov. 22:6, NASB
