The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel.” ~ Proverbs 12:15

Most men are long rangers, says Ronnie Roque, founder of Who me be a leader, the word counsel is like a slap in the face to them.”

What is it that keeps a fool from being wise?

His way is right in his own eyes. He thinks he is in the right in everything he does, and therefore asks no advice, because he does not apprehend he needs it. He is confident he knows the way, and cannot miss it, and therefore never inquires the way. The rule he goes by is to do that which is right in his own eyes, to walk in the way of his heart. He makes his will his law. He is a fool that is governed by his eye, and not by his conscience.

What it is that keeps a wise man from being a fool?

He is willing to be advised, desires to have counsel given him, and heeds and gives attention to counsel—what has been said, being reserved and restrained in manner when it comes to his own judgment and having a value for the direction of those that are wise and good. He is wise (it is a sign he is so, and he is likely to continue so) whose ear is always open to good advice.

“To receive a gift and not use the gift is a form of disrespect to the gift giver,” says Ronnie Roque of Who Me Be A Leader?

The spiritual gift that is given to the believer by the Holy Spirit once a person receives Christ as their Savior {are Born Again} are special gifts and abilities that are used to minister to the needs of the body of believers.

In today’s video, Ronnie speaks to his blog viewers about spiritual gifts.

The New Testament contains several lists of spiritual gifts, most authored by St. Paul. While each list is unique, there is overlap.

In the Christian life we battle against rulers and spiritual forces.  To withstand their attacks we must depend on God’s strength and use every piece of his armor.

When we read, Ephesians 6:12, we should recognize that Paul isn’t only giving this counsel to the church, the body of Christ, but to all individuals within the church.  The whole body needs to be armed.  As you do battle against “the world forces of darkness” fight in the strength of the church, whose power comes from the Holy Spirit.

Those who aren’t flesh and blood are demons over whom Satan has control.  They are not merely fantasies—they are very real.

We face a powerful army whose goal is to defeat Christ’s church.  When we believe in Christ, these beings become our enemies and they try every device to turn us away from Him and back to sin.

Although we are assured of victory, we must engage in the struggle until Christ returns, because Satan is constantly battling against all who are on the Lord’s side.  We need supernatural power to defeat Satan, and God has provided this by giving us His Holy Spirit within us and His armor surrounding us.

If you feel discouraged, remember Jesus’ words to Peter:

“Upon this rock I will build My church and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.” ~ Matthew 16:18

Many Christians, well aware of their abilities {gifts}, believe that they have the right to use their abilities as they please. Others feel that they have no special talents at all.

Everyone has gift(s), if they are children of God—born again.  God gives His children gifts and abilities to use to serve one another and to help build His heavenly Kingdom. In this video, Ronnie Roque, shares how all Christians are called by God for a specific task.  Not only are we called by God, if we are born again, but God equips us for our specific calling before sending us out.

“Only, as the Lord has assigned to each one, as God has called each, in this manner let him walk…” ~ 1 Corin. 7:17

“whosoever speaks is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God ma be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever.  Amen.” ~ 1 Peter 4:11
